The Southern African Development Community’s observer mission said its members noted some of the best democratic practices in the region during the elections earlier this week.
 

The SADC mission has declared the South African election free, fair and transparent before leaving the country on Friday.

Swaziland’s Agricultural Minister, Clement Dlamini, who headed the mission, said South Africans can be proud.

“That will go a long way in contributing to the consultation of democracy and political stability not only in South Africa but the SADC region as well as the African continent at large,” Dlamini stated.
