Various outgoing Western Cape MEC’s say they are satisfied they did all they could to improve on service delivery during their short time in office.
The Democratic Alliance has booted the ANC out of power in the Western Cape after winning last week’s provincial poll.
The current cabinet has only been in place for over eight months after it was reshuffled following the departure of former premier Ebrahim Rasool.
Education MEC Yusuf Gabru says he is very disappointed the ANC is no longer in power.
He says during his time in the department he has done all he can to improve the working conditions of teachers.
Sport and Cultural Affairs MEC Cameron Dugmore says the ANC’s provincial leadership needs to go back to the drawing board to see where it went wrong.
At the same time the party’s provincial secretary, Mncebisi Skwatsha, has downplayed ongoing speculation of fierce infighting which is dividing the organisation.
