Smaller parties have begun assessing the cost of losing their representation in parliament.
Several organisations were decimated in last week’s national and provincial elections, with a large number not achieving any seats in the National Assembly.
Minority Front leader Amichand Rajbansi said he believed he had nothing to worry about.
“Nobody touched us, nobody infected us. It was like a hurricane that hit the small parties but there’s only one party that stood up and that’s the MF,” said Rajbansi.
Meanwhile, the Freedom Front Plus will retain the same four people in Parliament as its representatives.
However, the party’s Willie Spies said it needed to look at what has happened.
“There is one source of concern and that is the fact that the party’s growth was limited to the Gauteng province. The party needs to do certain introspection, we need to see what happened in Gauteng and what happened in the rest of the country," said Rajbansi.
Several parties are expected to meet this week to discuss the viability of forming a coalition.
