The Democratic Alliance says it is planning a complete overhaul of the Western Cape health system.

Fresh from its out right election victory in the province it says it is working on restructuring service delivery in the sector.

Following public outcries over cases of alleged negligence by medical staff resulting in the death of four children.

It says amongst its plans are a performance of appraisal system to ensure delivery and accountability in the event of under performance.

The party’s director of research, Julia Frielanghus, says the shortage of medical staff remains a significant problem.
