Newly appointed Public Protector Thuli Madonsela says there is not much she can do about the arms deal now.
Two weeks ago Madonsela took over from Lawrence Mushwana who decided not to investigate an element of the arms deal.
When asked whether she would continue the investigation, Madonsela said she could not contribute much now.
She said she would like to change the reputation of the institution over the next seven years by making it more accessible to the public.
