ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema maintains Eskom CEO Jacob Maroga has not resigned despite numerous reports from staff members.

They say the utility’s Chairman Bobby Godsell made the announcement at Megawatt Park on Thursday afternoon.

Many welcomed the news of the resignation but Malema had his own theory about why Maroga was out: “Jacob Maroga is not a victim of a conspiracy, he is the victim of white racists.”

Malema is calling on Public Enterprise Minister Barbara Hogan to clarify whether or not Maroga has stepped down or not.
