A new study in the United States shows that Oscar Pistorius’ prosthetic legs give him a 10 second advantage.

Researchers at two US universities found that Pistorius’ blades help him to sprint faster in a 400 metre race.

The International Association of Athletics Federations banned Pistorius from competing against able-boded athletes last year but that was overturned by a court order.

The ruling cleared the blade runner to run at the Beijing Olympics.
