The United Nations World Meteorological Organisation said on Tuesday diseases which flourished in tropical conditions, like malaria, was spreading because of global warming.

The international watchdog said greenhouse gas emissions were at an all time high and warned of catastrophic effects with less than a month to go before the G20 Climate Change Summit in Copenhagen.

WMO Secretary-General Michel Jarraud said the impact of increasing temperatures would affect more than just sea levels and weather patterns.
