King Goodwill Zwelinthini was on Tuesday given six days to respond to Animal Rights Africa’s attempt to stop the controversial bull killing ritual.
The ceremony, associated with the Ukweshwama Festival, is scheduled to take place in the first week of December.
During the festival, Zulu men are expected to kill a bull using their bare hands as a test of their strength and courage but Animals Right Africa argued this was cruel.
High profile authorities including Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa, Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Sicelo Shiceka and KwaZulu-Natal Premier Zweli Mkhize were among the respondents in the highly controversial case.
