Singer Jurie Els on Friday told the North Gauteng High Court he tried to deal with Robbie Klay’s obsession with sex by trying to explain to him what normal behaviour was.
Els was on trial for allegedly molesting Klay when he was still a child.
Earlier this week, he told the court he suspected his former protégé had been sexually assaulted because of his pre-occupation with sex.
The singer said he was shocked when he first met Klay and realised the child had an absolute obsession with sex.
He told the court Klay would often describe pornographic scenes in movies and used extremely explicit language in front of his mother.
The court heard matters got worse when Klay reached puberty.
Els said the younger performer’s promiscuity, immorality and the vulgar expressions he used offended him because he is a Christian.
He said as a teacher he nevertheless tried to teach Klay how to behave.
The case resumes next week.
