Cape Town Metro police are pleased Operation Razor has continued to yield results.

Thirty-nine motorists were arrested for drunken driving over the weekend.

Officers said that as part of the operation road blocks were held in several areas, including Khayelitsha, Belhar and Table View.

Metro police spokesperson Nowellen Peterson said they also nabbed alleged abalone poachers.

“In Belhar we had an incident where a motorist was pulled over, and found that the vehicle was stolen. The driver was arrested, and upon further search officials also found that 145 abalone was in the vehicle,” said Petersen.
