FIFA has barred Argentina’s football coach Diego Maradona from attending Friday’s 2010 World Cup draw in Cape Town.

The soccer legend has been banned from football for two months because of comments he made after Argentina secured a place in the tournament. The world cup winner told reporters they could perform sexual acts on him after he proved his critics wrong.

It has been reported Maradona is planning to defy FIFA and travel to Cape Town regardless.

FIFA Spokespreson Delia Fischer says for the duration of his ban, Maradona is not recognised as Argentina’s coach.

“Diego Maradona is not eligible for the draw and we are not aware that he is coming because he is knocked out of the delegation of the Argentinean Football Association,” she said.
