A murder docket was opened on Tuesday after the discovery of a body on the N1 highway in Roodepoort on the West Rand.

A metro officer found the man’s body on Tuesday near the Maraisburg Road off-ramp on the West Rand.

The victim was shot.

The police’s Kym Cloete said they were tracking down the man’s family.

“The deceased was found with gun shot wounds, a brother has identified him but the family has not yet been informed and Florida has opened a murder docket,” she said.
