Nomsa Maseko | 2009/12/02 03:10:12 PM

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Malusi Gigaba on Wednesday said human trafficking was a major problem.

He said plans were in place to deal with the issue ahead of the festive period and the World Cup.

Gigaba was worried about child smuggling from villages to cities which has been increasing.

He added his department made a significant contribution towards ensuring the World Cup draw, to be held on Friday in Cape Town, was a success.

The draw is the first step in ensuring South Africa is ready for the soccer spectacular next year.
