An SA Airlink plane crash landed near George Airport on Monday morning.
Details are still filtering through but it has been established the passenger jet went down on the feeder road from the N2 to the Airport.
SA Airlink has endured heavy criticism in recent months after several of its planes have either crash landed, skidded off the runway or been forced to turn back due to technical problems.
One George resident said it appeared the plane drove through the George Airport fence: “We went out after it already happened, the passengers had already been removed from the plane so we basically saw the rescue workers there.”
There were no reports of casualties.
George municipal traffic’s, Kenny Africa said emergency officials were on the scene.
“At this stage it’s difficult to say what caused this situation. Luckily there are no fatalities. At the moment we’re sitting with about three or four people with minor injuries.”
