The parents of a matric pupil who died in an accident on the N2 near Heidelberg travelled to the Southern Cape on Tuesday to identify their son’s body.
Kosie Steenkamp (18) and his friend Jason Faro (17) were killed after the bakkie they were travelling in collided with a milk truck.
Traffic officials said the vehicle was trapped underneath the tanker.
The deceased were both enrolled at Swartland High School in Malmesbury.
“At this stage it’s totally unclear what went wrong. Although it has been confirmed that the vehicle was in the direction of Stilbaai, and the truck was going in the direction of Heidelberg,: said provincial traffic’s Xenophone Wentel.
