The Western Cape Health Department said on Monday a list of demands from nursing students was being discussed in a bid to ease tensions at an Athlone College.
Classes at the Western Cape College of Nursing were disrupted on Monday as students staged their protest.
They were demanding bursaries and revised working hours when they do their in-service training.
The department’s Faiza Steyn said officials have been considering their response.
“The SRC handed over a memorandum to the college management. Management of the college and the department are sitting at the moment, scrutinising the memo,” said Steyn.
