The ANC responded to opposition leader Helen Zille’s criticism of President Jacob Zuma, labelling her utterances as unfortunate.

On Wednesday, Zuma admitted he has a relationship and a four-month old baby with soccer boss Irvian Khoza’s daughter.

The little girl, who was born late last year, is Zuma’s twentieth child.

DA leader Helen Zille criticised Zuma, saying he used his Zulu culture to justify infidelity.

The ANC’s Brian Sokutu said, “It is very unfortunate that the Democratic Alliance’s leader Helen Zille does not find it appropriate to acknowledge that President Zuma has taken the country into his confidence, by responding to the media frenzy on a matter very personal and private.”

The ANC urged all South Africans and the media to give Zuma and his family time to deal with the private matter.

An article in the Saturday Star details a 30-year old Zimbabwean man’s claim that he could be Zuma’s love child from a relationship Zuma had while in exile.
