The Health Department said it is monitoring the recall of Simply Slim products.
It confirmed the diet pill manufacturers and promoters are complying with instructions to remove the products from store shelves.
The capsules were recalled late in January for safety reasons. They were also not registered with the Medicines Control Council.
The department’s Fidel Hadebe said the company may appeal the suspension.
“It may take a while before everything is removed from the shelf, but we are monitoring the situation. If there is some kind of defiance we will then as the Department of Health in this government look at ways of enforcing the suspension,” he said.
