Arguments in mitigation of sentence will continue in the trial of former advocate and convicted sex criminal Cezanne Visser on Tuesday.
Visser was found guilty on 11 charges last year.
The North Gauteng High Court heard on Monday she would not get the proper treatment for her depression if she was sent to prison.
The state will cross-examine forensic criminologist Dr Eon Sonnekus.
Sonnekus on Monday told the court Visser was remorseful of her deeds, adding her rehabilitation process had begun.
Acting judge Chris Eksteen questioned him about this, asking if Visser had, at any stage during her trial, told any of her victims she was sorry.
The criminologist suggested Visser either receive a suspended jail term or be sentenced to correctional supervision and community service.
The latter would include working eight hours per month at the Pretoria Zoo.
