Togo goalkeeper Kodjovi Obilale is expected to undergo physical rehabilitation within a few days.

The player was shot in the back and abdomen when separatists in Angola opened fire on Togo’s convoy as they entered the country to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations last month.

The team’s assistant coach and its squad spokesperson were killed in the shooting which prompted Togo to withdraw from the competition.

Obilale underwent his second surgery at Milpark Hospital last week.

The hospital’s Ken Boffard said the player was making good progress.
