Cape Flats inspired hip hop group Die Antwoord is on the verge of signing a major international record deal with Interscope Records.

The trio has been in America meeting with record companies and performing impromptu shows.

There have been reports that the group has signed to Interscope - the home of Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas and Eminem - but this has yet to be confirmed by Die Antwoord’s representatives.

There is an undeniable interest in the group from agents and labels alike, all clamouring to be part of the band’s “Zef” style of music.

Die Antwoord is also in talks with District 9 director Neill Blomkamp to film their next music video, and possibly a film.
