The North-West Public Safety Department said on Friday 40 rangers have been appointed to keep stray animals off the roads.

The rangers will also be responsible for educating emerging farmers about keeping their animals in safe enclosures.

Public Safety’s Lesiba Kgwele said: “The intervention we have made [is] to distribute reflective earrings as well as bands that will be worn around the necks of the animals so that drivers are able to spot the animals from afar.”
