Johannesburg residents in Fourways, Bryanston and Magaliesig were outraged on Friday after being without water for more than 24 hours.

A burst pipe on William Nicol Drive on Thursday caused an outage in the area and resulted in traffic chaos.

It is still unclear if the burst pipe is to blame for Friday’s water cuts.

Residents said they have been trying to contact Johannesburg Water and have had enough.

“I’m terribly frustrated. It’s impossible to get through,” said a woman in the area.

“I’ve been out of water since yesterday and I don’t know for how much longer we’ll not have water. I think it’s absolutely disgusting,” said another resident.

Johannesburg Water has been unavailable for comment.
